Interview Success tips

As we have just past the half way point of the current financial year, we are reflecting on the six months just gone and looking ahead to the next six months and beyond to the 2025/26 financial year.

We are continuing to support general practice and have seen some initial success with our recently launched dentistry and community pharmacy recruitment pilots with roles being filled. In particular, with regard to the dentistry pilot, uptake and engagement have been very encouraging.

Attraction

Between April and September 2024, we have advertised over 1,130 vacancies across the east of England; these roles cover a variety of job types and we are encouraged by the fill rates.  During this time, we have received over 23,000 applications to our advertised roles.

Candidate attraction is arguably one of the most crucial elements of the recruitment process and at Primary Care Careers we can offer support with the entire recruitment process – from writing engaging job adverts to targeted social media campaigns and everything in between.  Please do follow us on LinkedIn as we head towards 2,000 followers!

Recruitment

We aim to provide the best possible service to all the hiring managers and job seekers that utilise our service and with this in mind, have just commenced a total overhaul of our applicant tracking system.

This is a key piece of work for us at the moment, to ensure we get the most from the system and is being expertly lead by Sophie in our team, in partnership with Eploy. We have reached out to those organisations we work with to ensure that the information we hold is correct and to ask anyone who is interested in being involved in this project to come forward and let us know. If this is something you are interested in, please get in touch on 01206 918670 or enquiries@eoeprimarycarecareers.nhs.uk. We look forward to launching our updated recruitment platform early next year.

Retention

While recruitment is important, it’s not enough on its own – retention is the extent to which an employer keeps their people working within their organisation. When recruitment strategies are aligned with retention efforts, organisations can best ensure that they recruit candidates who are likely to stay and thrive. Investing in a robust retention plan can save time and money, improve morale and productivity, and lead to a more stable and cohesive workforce, a stronger employer brand, and ultimately, greater long-term success.

Primary Care Careers works with organisations to understand the health of your workplace and to develop successful attraction, recruitment and retention strategies.

As always, we would love to hear from anyone who would like to find out more about what we do.
