We have also highlighted some of these roles below.

Receptionists (otherwise known as care navigators) are often the first person a patient meets when they go to a surgery and excellent customer service skills are essential for this role. A number of surgeries we work with have recruited people with transferable skills rather than prior experience in a GP surgery.

Practice managers play a key role within GP surgeries – they are responsible for the successful running of the practice. If you have prior management experience, a keen interest or knowledge of the sector, and strong transferable skills, this could be an interesting and challenging role to consider.

The primary purpose of this role is to support access to care through the use of technology and new initiatives. This newly created role offers the opportunity to drive innovation in the NHS and is ideal for someone with knowledge of healthcare and/or experience in a similar position.

A relatively new role within primary care which provides nursing support to the practice. An excellent role for future growth as a clinician in which you can train as you work.
